Acrylic on found objects 40 x 30 in (left), 20 x 13 in (right) | 2019
On the left, five Chinese maps produced and sold in China indicate regions of the Republic of China using different colors, and use dashed lines on the ocean to include its claimed territory in international waters. In the maps, Taiwan is painted over with grey — the same color of other countries beside China, and the 9 dash lines are painted with the color of the ocean.
On the right is a found Chinese communist propaganda poster with the line saying “liberating Taiwan” on the bottom. The poster is painted with white acrylic to highlight the weapons in the image.
